The Triangle Nonprofit & Volunteer Leadership Center

About The Center...

Celebrating 50 years of service to the community, The Triangle Nonprofit and Volunteer Leadership Center (TNVLC) is a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit organization. TNVLC began operations in February of 1972 as a way to help fill the unmet needs in our community.

The Triangle Nonprofit & Volunteer Leadership Center strengthens nonprofits and engages volunteers to create a more vibrant community. We inspire, equip, and mobilize nonprofits, volunteers, and students to take action that enriches our community.

Through our work we strive to:

  • Strengthen non-profits and the impact they have in our communities
  • Motivate, inspire, and mobilize volunteers
  • Provide leadership and civic engagement opportunities for students
  • Coordinate direct human service projects for the Department of Social Services
  • Engage and develop corporate partnerships
  • Enhance and promote community leadership and involvement

Working with more than 1,200 nonprofits, the Center also coordinates the largest volunteer database in the Triangle area. We collaborate with other nonprofits to raise awareness and impact local needs. Most organizations focus on a single issue; however, the TNVLC is involved in all aspects of the community. We partner with groups that address issues ranging from hunger and poverty to arts and culture; from youth and education to senior citizens and retirement homes; from animal protection to environmental protection. We work with agencies focusing on civic engagement, literacy, disaster relief, drug abuse, recreation, immigration, health and human services, and more.

TNVLC operates throughout the 9-county Triangle area-primarily in Durham, Orange and Wake counties. We also work closely with Triangle schools, area universities, local municipalities, Social Services as well as many community-based organizations and service agencies.

Because of the scope of our programs, we are able to make a broad community impact. Our overall goal is to improve the quality of life in our community.
