Durham Farmer's Market

Saturdays through November | FREE |  501 Foster Street Durham, NC 27701

Located at the Pavilion at Durham Central Park. See a map & directions. Below are our hours:

  • Main Season Market: Saturdays from 8 am-12 pm (April – November)
  • Mid-Week Market: Open Wednesdays from 3-6 pm (April 17, 2024 – mid-October)
  • Winter Market Hours: Saturdays from 10 am-12 pm (December – March)
  • Thanksgiving Market: Tuesday before Thanksgiving.

During the main season, the Durham Craft Market sets up on the green space at Durham Central Park right next to the farmers’ market.  Art Market Durham is hosted by Cecy’s Gallery and sets up every Saturday at the intersection of Hunt Street and Foster Street, right next to the farmers’ market!  Though it may seem like one be market, it is actually three separate markets happening each weekend at the same time and place – the more the merrier!!!!  We love our neighbors and know that you will, too!  So be sure to explore all the offerings on Saturday and you will be amazed at what you will find!

19th Annual Strawberry Festival

Saturday May 4th, 11am – 3pm| FREE | Old North Durham Park, 301 W Geer St, Durham

This is a child-centered, family run, community fun-focused event for the entire Durham Community hosted by Central Park School for Children. Children’s ingenuity combines with community volunteerism to raise funds for CPSC’s mission of All Children Thriving, all during a trash-free green event!

Enjoy a fun-filled family day while raising money for the students. The festival features:

Cary Dog Daze and Pet Expo

Saturday May 4th, 10am – 3pm| FREE | Cary Police Department, 120 Wilkinson Ave, Cary

Get ready to unleash the fun and celebrate our furry friends at the most exciting event of the year – the Cary Dog Daze! Join us for a day filled with tail-wagging excitement, paw-some activities, and unforgettable memories.   Our very own Cary Animal Services team is hosting this event and is excited to grow the Cary Dog Daze and Pet Expo into an annual extravaganza. This year’s event will include:

  • Animal Rescues: Come out and see a multitude of dog, cat and wildlife rescue organizations.
  • Agility Course: Watch amazing canine athletes tackle obstacles with finesse and skill.
  • Pet Vendor Village: Explore a variety of pet-related products and services from local vendors.
  • Food Trucks: Indulge in delicious treats for both you and your furry friend.
  • Doggy Demonstrations: Learn new tricks and training tips from expert trainers.
 

Carrboro Day Celebration

Sunday May 5th, 1pm – 5pm| FREE | Carrboro Town Hall, 301 W Main St, Carrboro

Join neighbors and friends to celebrate the unique qualities that make our town special. Plenty of family activities including live music, food vendors, poetry, crafts and interactive family games. Bring a chair or blanket and enjoy a leisurely day on the Town Commons. Carrboro Day is an annual event that is traditionally held at Town Commons on the first Sunday in May. This event is about meeting your neighbors, learning about aspects of the Town’s history, connecting with the Town and learning about Town services, and taking a day to celebrate Carrboro!

 

54th Annual Bimbé Cultural Arts Festival

Saturday May 18th, 1pm – 7pm| FREE | Rock Quarry Park, 701 Stadium Drive, Durham

This family-oriented event is a celebration of African and African American history, culture, arts, and traditions.

Got to Be NC Festival

Friday May 17th through Sunday May 19th| FREE | NC State Fairgrounds, Raleigh

North Carolina food companies, breweries and wineries will be sampling and selling some of the most delightful flavors North Carolina has to offer!  Visit website to see schedule of activities and events.

 

Artsplosure

Saturday May 18th 11am – 7pm, Sunday May 19th 10am – 6pm| FREE | Fayetteville Street, downtown Raleigh

The Raleigh Arts Festival returns on May 18-19, 2024 in the heart of downtown Raleigh.

Explore the eclectic, award-winning Art Market featuring over 175 juried fine artists and craftspeople exhibiting original works of art in 10 different categories. All will be available for purchase, including painting, photography, pottery, jewelry, woodwork, and more.

Watch live music performances on the main stage from emerging national and regional artists, bring the kids to enjoy free arts and crafts at Kidsplosure, and experience one-of-a-kind art installations on display throughout the Fayetteville Street footprint.

 

Wheels on Academy - Cary's 11th Annual Car Show

Saturday May 18th, 10am – 2pm| FREE | N. Academy Street in Downtown Cary

Spend a nice spring day seeing cars of yesteryear come alive and rule the roads alongside some of today’s modern hot rods and exotic cars. Find that special car that evokes memories of the past or dreams of the future. Academy Street will be full of entertainment, food, and fun for the entire family!

 

Durham Greek Festival

Saturday May 18th, 11am – 9pm and Sunday May 19th, 11am – 7pm| FREE | St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church, 8306 NC Hwy 751, Durham

Experience the flavors, sounds, and traditions of Greece right here in North Carolina at the 2024 Durham Greek Festival. Enjoy delicious Greek food and pastries, a Greek Taverna, traditional music, folk dance performances, shopping, and church tours.

Come experience the kefi (joy) of this annual event that draws thousands in the Triangle area. Admission is FREE and there will be fun for all ages, RAIN OR SHINE! Celebrate food, wine, and life with the Greeks. Enjoy our legendary hospitality. Dance to our lively bouzouki music, shouting “Opa!”

 

Taste of Soul NC

Saturday May 25th, 3pm – 8pm| FREE | Durham Central Park, 501 Foster St., Durham

Eat from some of the best Food Trucks in the area, Shop Local Merchants, enjoy Kid games including a Bounce House & enjoy the DJ along with Live Performances.  Bring blankets and/or chairs to sit in the grassy area while you enjoy the live performances and watch kids play in the bounce house.

 

Durham Brick Convention Lego Event

Saturday June 1st and Sunday June 2nd, 11:30am – 6pm| Tickets Required | Durham Convention Center, 301 W Morgan St,  Durham

BRICK CONVENTION is the Greatest LEGO® Fan Event on Earth and brings all of the creative hands-on, minds-on fun of LEGO® building and experiences together in one activity- and entertainment-packed family event for children of all ages and builders of all skills and interests.

 

Walk for the Animals

Saturday June 1st, 9am -12:30pm | Tickets Required | Duke East Campus, 712 Broad St.,  Durham

Enjoy a day full of engaging, entertaining, and educational events. Pet contests, agility courses, games, and more.

The Walk is a yearly reminder that APS can only do our life-saving work thanks to the incredible community lifting us up with their energy, compassion, and commitment. Team up. Fundraise. Celebrate! Help raise funds for our furry friends. Walk together, one paw in front of the other.

 

20th Annual Beaver Queen Pageant

Saturday June 1st, 4pm – 7pm | Free entry, $5 per vote | Duke Park, Englewood Ave and Acadia St.,  Durham

The Beaver Queen Pageant is Durham’s own special mix of folly, pageantry, and humor. Contestants take on beaver personalities: Fur Pelton John, the Beave Whisperer, and Furrabella-Conchita Carramba. As with every Beauty Queen Pageant, the contestants introduce themselves in their wetlands ready wear, showcase their unique talent, and participate in an interview in their finest evening wear. 

The Beaver Queen Pageant serves as a fundraiser for the Ellerbe Creek Watershed Association (ECWA).

 

Raleigh’s International Food Festival

Saturday June 1st, 11am – 8pm | FREE | City Plaza, 400 Fayetteville St, Raleigh

Celebrate Raleigh’s diverse community and welcoming spirit by trying food, beer and wine (plus listen to live music and see more entertainment) from around the world. Nearly 20,000 attendees are expected in downtown Raleigh‘s City Plaza for the event.

 

Handmade Market & Parade

Saturday June 1st, 12pm – 6pm | FREE | River Park, 228 S Churton St., Hillsborough

This curated, community art show takes place within the Weekend of Art in Hillsborough, alongside Hillsborough’s legendary Handmade Parade!  Handmade Market (previously Art in the Heart of Hillsborough) features original, handmade work 45+ local artists.
You’ll find artists, food & beverage vendors, exciting experiences.

 

PLAYlist Concert Series: The Magic of African Rhythm

Friday June 7th, 7:30pm | FREE | Durham Central Park, 501 Foster St, Durham

Meaningful stories are told in both authentic song and original dance choreography. In the midst of the drama, skilled dancers appear to fly, leaving onlookers in an awe of swirling raffia skirts and headdresses. Drums, dance, costumes, song and story carry audiences across the colorful spectrum of the entire continent.
Local food trucks will be on site, as well as craft beer and other vendors.

There’s lawn seating, so please bring a blanket or lawn chair. Picnics are welcome, but outside alcohol is not allowed.

NC Symphony on the Village Green

Friday June 14th, 8pm | FREE | Southern Village Green, 400 Market Street, Chapel Hill

We are thrilled to welcome The North Carolina Symphony to Southern Village. We encourage you bring your friends and family for what is sure to be one of your favorite nights of the year. Spots on the Village Green tend to fill up early in the day so please come early! Blankets, low beach chairs and coolers (no bottles) are welcome! No cover charge and plenty of parking is available. Picnics are encouraged!
