Each year, the Center coordinates this program for the Governor’s office for Durham, Granville, Orange, Person, and Wake counties. County winners are selected and submitted to the Governor’s office, where they are considered for the State’s highest volunteer recognition, the Medallion Award, which is given to the top 20 volunteers in the state.
The 2024 Nomination Period is now closed.
The 2024 Governor’s Volunteer Service Awards and Key Volunteer of the Year Award Event will be held on May 6 at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel from 11am-1pm.
This is the 50th year for this event and we are excited that we have over 100 nominations to celebrate!
