Mia Kuykendall from the Diaper Bank of NC will share their volunteer opportunities,
for those seeking a location for court-ordered hours. Learn how eligibility, referral sources, program goals, and participant capacity shape successful placements.
The session also covers essential supervision and accountability practices, including hour verification, court reporting, issue escalation, and placement termination protocols. Participants gain practical tools to ensure compliance, maintain program integrity, and support positive outcomes for both clients and the justice system.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
Understand the range of volunteer opportunities with emphasis on placements that are suitable for individuals completing court-ordered service hours.
Recognize some best practices for supervision and accountability in court-ordered volunteer programs.
Have a better understanding of proper procedures for service hour verification and court reporting.

Mia Kuykendall is the Community Engagement Director at the Diaper Bank of NC. After graduating from UNCG during COVID and teaching in public schools, she shifted her career to service to address the growing needs she saw in her community.
She now leads all outreach and community engagement efforts, working with over 1,000 volunteers, and sharing the impact of hygiene items. Mia works closely with volunteers of all ages and abilities as they help distribute dignity and cover bottoms across North Carolina.
