The Durham County Department of Social Services (DSS) Volunteer Program coordinates three annual service projects for DSS clients in need.
Volunteers step up to meet these needs by participating in
“Backpacks for Kids”
This program gives students a new backpack and the new supplies they need so they can start the year off strong with the tools they need to succeed |

“Thanksgiving Dinners”
During this program, Volunteers buy a meal (cooked or uncooked) for a family in the community, so everyone can enjoy the holiday and be truly thankful |

“Share Your Christmas”
Generous donors buy new Christmas gifts for families, making sure everyone has something under the tree. Volunteers can also help by wrapping and delivering gifts. |
